What is the difference between an MC number and a US DOT number? A US DOT number identifies carriers operating in interstate commerce while an MC number identifies a carrier who transports regulated commodities for hire in interstate commerce.
How much does it cost to get an MC number?
What is the cost for obtaining operating authority (MC number)? The cost for each individual Operating Authority is a one-time fee of $300. Separate filing fees must be submitted with the application at the time of processing for each Authority sought.
